Dear New England Member:
The New England Local Board and staff are very much aware of the questions and concerns surrounding the employment of background actors on Black Mass. We are vigilant when it comes to collective bargaining enforcement and we have taken this matter to the senior legal and contracts staff of SAG-AFTRA.
Senior staff will engage the labor relations executives for this film to resolve any misunderstandings about their obligations under our theatrical collective bargaining agreement. We will report back to you concerning the results of those conversations.
In addition, a Background Town Hall will be planned to address background related questions or concerns in more detail in the coming weeks. In the meantime, please feel free to call the office at (617) 262-8001 and speak with me or with Jessica Maher regarding any questions you may have.
