Greetings and Happy New Year to all our SAG-AFTRA New Mexico members!
As many of you know, New Mexico’s “new year celebration” came a bit early with the recent announcement of Netflix buying our beloved ABQ Studios. This means now is the perfect time to update your headshots, take a class and reexamine your reel. Let’s give the gift of New Mexico talent to all the productions that come to our Land of Enchantment.
We do have a big announcement to make regarding the New Mexico Local SAG Awards viewing party: We have decided not to host a party in 2019. Instead, we’ll utilize those funds to present several smaller, more intimate events, mixers and gatherings throughout the year. We think this will be a great way to focus on what’s happening in our market, what’s happening at the national level and, of course, it's a great way for our members to connect more frequently.
Meanwhile, all members are encouraged to participate in this year’s awards by:
- Voting for this year’s terrific slate of actors.
- Organizing parties of your own.
- Sharing photos of your celebrations on social media at #sagawards.
