Happy fall, Everyone!
You probably noticed it is shaping up to be a very busy fall in our industry, with many local productions back to work and new opportunities arising each month! Remember to check our Hawaii Local page for productions that are currently shooting and have active agreements in place. If you are ever unsure if a production is union or not, make sure to check and call if you don't see it on the list. Our COVID Return to Work Agreement is still in effect on all sets until Sept. 30, so testing and masks will still be necessary until we hear otherwise. Keep safe, and you will receive updates as soon as any changes take place.
Thank you to all the members who recently participated in our first-ever Hawaii Local SAG-AFTRA virtual industry networking event on Saturday, Sept. 10. We all learned so much from our incredible panel of speakers, including local casting directors, independent filmmakers, voiceover artists and stunt performers. The virtual format allowed for Q&A in five different breakout rooms and participants were able to talk story and move freely from virtual room to room. Congratulations to the Hawaii Local Conservatory Committee for creating this amazing opportunity to connect and learn from the leaders in our industry! If you missed out on this event, please make sure your email address is up to date so you are receiving the invitations and RSVP notices, and if you received the email invite back in August and didn’t sign up or respond, please make sure you don’t miss out next time!
Your next great opportunity to participate is coming up on Saturday, Oct. 15, at the 2022 Honolulu Pride Parade. Although it’s not an official SAG-AFTRA event, many of your Hawaii Local colleagues will be marching, and we’d love to have you join us.
Pupukahi i holomua!
Unite to move forward!
