Nominations Announced Live on Thursday, February 4th at 8 a.m. (PT)

LOS ANGELES – Lily Collins (Emily in Paris, MANK) and Daveed Diggs (Snowpiercer, BLINDSPOTTING, The Good Lord Bird) will announce the nominees for the 27th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® on Thursday, February 4th on an Instagram Live, producers for the SAG Awards announced today. The nominations will be announced exclusively via an Instagram Live, with Daveed Diggs on @sagawards and Lily Collins on @lilyjcollins beginning at 8 a.m. (PT). 

SAG Awards nominations have never before been presented solely via a Live social media platform. The SAG Awards is utilizing the innovation that social media channels like Instagram have achieved in providing an accessible platform for people to share their stories and stay up-to-date with current events. SAG Awards’ aim is to create an authentic connection with their audience by reinventing the  Nominations Announcement into a seamless, virtual experience for both the nominees and fans.

Nominations will be kicked off at 7:50 a.m. PT on  @sagawards’ Instagram Stories with an introduction by SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris. Nominations for the Outstanding Action Performances by Television and Film ensembles, will follow. The annual stunt honors will be announced by SAG Awards Committee members Jason George (Station 19) and Elizabeth McLaughlin (Grand Hotel).

Following the announcement, all footage and social media graphics for media and talent use will be combined into a seamless video that will be available: sagawards.org/27nominations

The 27th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be simulcast on TNT and TBS on Sunday, April 4, 2021, at 9 p.m. (ET) / 6 p.m. (PT). An encore will air on TNT at 11 p.m. (ET) / 8 p.m. (PT).

Lily Collins is an award-winning actress, author, and philanthropist. Collins can currently be seen starring as Emily in the Netflix hit rom-com series “Emily in Paris” from iconic creator Darren Star. In addition, Collins can be seen in David Fincher’s critically acclaimed Netflix original drama, MANK, about screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz, and his battles with director Orson Welles over screenplay credit for CITIZEN KANE (1941). She is the author of the international bestselling book, “Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets Just Me,” about the things young women struggle with—body image, self-confidence, relationships, family, dating and so much more, while recounting her own experiences within these themes. Collins’ philanthropic endeavors include various efforts for the  We Organization, including participating in many of their “We Day” events, and the GO Campaign where she serves as an ambassador.

Daveed Diggs is a Tony Award® and Grammy Award®-winning actor, rapper and producer widely known for originating the dual roles of Thomas Jefferson and Marquis de Lafayette in the Broadway sensation, HAMILTON.  Diggs can currently be seen starring in Season 2 of his hit TNT series “Snowpiercer,” which was recently picked up for a third season. He will also lend his voice to the live-action film adaptation of Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID, in which he will play Sebastian. Diggs is currently in production on "Blindspotting," a new television series for STARZ based on the critically-acclaimed film from Diggs and Rafael Casal. Daveed, who was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award in 2018 for the film, will serve as the executive producer and writer of the 8-episode series. In 2020, Diggs voiced the character Paul in Disney Pixar’s SOUL, starred in SHOWTIME’S limited series “The Good Lord Bird” based on the award-winning novel by author James McBride, and voiced the role of Helen in Apple TV+’s new animated musical sitcom, “Central Park.”

Gabrielle Carteris is an actor and labor union leader. She has served as SAG-AFTRA president since April 2016 and was previously executive vice president from 2013-2016. She is the chair of the National TV/Theatrical Contracts Negotiating Committee and leads the President’s Task Force on Education, Outreach and Engagement. Carteris also serves as a vice president on the AFL-CIO’s executive council and on the International Federation of Actors' executive council. Carteris became a household name playing Andrea Zuckerman on Beverly Hills, 90210 and recently starred in BH90210, a revival of the iconic show. Her extensive resume includes work in television, film and the stage, with recent credits including a recurring role on Code Black and guest-starring roles on Criminal MindsMake It or Break It, The Event, Longmire and The Middle. As a producer, Carteris created Lifestories, a series of specials, and Gabrielle, a talk show that she also hosted. Carteris is a fierce advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion as a path for systemic social change and is a founding ambassador of ReFRame and a delegate to the Hollywood Commission.

Jason George joined the SAG Awards Committee in 2015. He continues as chair of the SAG-AFTRA Diversity Advisory Committee, in addition to his service as a board member of the SAG-AFTRA National Board and of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. He is an actor with over 50 guest star and numerous series regular primetime television roles to his credit. George can currently be seen starring on Station 19 and  Grey’s Anatomy as Dr. Ben Warren, Miranda Bailey’s husband who gave up surgery to become a firefighter. He is also known for his work as a regular on ABC's Mistresses with Alyssa Milano. On film, he recently appeared in the thriller Breaking In with Gabriel Union and honored our wounded soldiers in the heartfelt drama Indivisible. Originally, George and his mentor—a Virginia Supreme Court Justice—had mapped out a career path in law. However, a college friend coaxed Jason into taking an acting class where he discovered his true calling on the stage.

Elizabeth McLaughlin is the newest member of the SAG Awards Committee, having joined in 2017. She began accumulating her fan following in 2008 when she starred as the lead in The Clique, after which she played dozens of parts on stage and on screens both big and small. She was featured in the regular casts of series including Pretty Little LiarsGrand Hotel and Betrayal. Elizabeth also starred as Alicia Hopkins in both seasons of Amazon's Hand of God. After attending the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, Elizabeth is back in Los Angeles in pursuance of her next creative endeavor.
