Eric Goins

Hello My Fellow SAG-AFTRA Brothers, Sisters and Kin,

I delayed this message to wait for the outcome of the recent Commercials Contracts negotiations. Today, I am pleased to announce the SAG-AFTRA National Board approved the 2022 Commercials Contracts tentative agreement reached with the Joint Policy Committee on April 5. The agreement was approved 92.92% to 7.08% and now goes to the membership for a ratification vote. Please be sure to educate yourself on the details of the new agreement so you can cast an informed vote. If you did not attend the online member informational meeting on April 19, please do RSVP for one of the April 26 meetings at sagaftra.org/commercials2022.

Voting is now open and information about the agreement is posted online here.

With over 40 projects shooting in any given week, Georgia continues to be an important leader in the entertainment industry. And whether it’s COVID-19 protocols, physical protection or prevention of harassment and assault in the workplace, performer safety is a top priority.

To that end, I am happy to welcome Justin Chambers to Atlanta as our newest regional set relations representative. Together with Susan Moss, our other regional set relations representative, Justin’s mission is to assist members with on-set issues related to contracts, safety and working conditions.

Justin is a Michigan native who has lived in Atlanta for the last 10 years. Before entering the entertainment industry, he served as a young adult missionary volunteer, working with people experiencing homelessness. After his service years, he transitioned into a recruitment role for a national nonprofit. In Justin’s previous role, he served as a child labor coordinator, advocating for minors working on film sets in Georgia. In his free time, Justin loves baking sweet treats for friends and loved ones, as well as enjoying the adventures of life, taking the occasional road trip to explore what the world has in store for him next.

We look forward to Justin joining Susan in building relations with employers to promote employment of SAG-AFTRA members and enhance contract compliance.
