Aloha Brothers and Sisters,
This year’s “#unconventional” SAG-AFTRA convention at the Beverly Hilton from Oct. 10–13 was a tremendous experience for me, as a fourth-time attendee, and all our local delegates. Besides the election of the executive and national vice presidents, we considered resolutions and a constitutional amendment to set our national priorities. Details can be found here.
Special mahalos to first-time delegates Theo Coumbis, Deborah Glazier and Secretary Leanne N. Sugai Teves for their participation and invaluable input, as well as the “seasoned delegates” National Board member Scott Rogers, Lisa Romano and Jean Simon. And a special shout-out and aloha to our esteemed executive director, Mericia Palma Elmore, also attending her first convention.
Whether you celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa or the winter solstice, season’s greetings and best wishes for a successful, happy and prosperous New Year to you all.
In solidarity and looking forward,
David C. Farmer
President, SAG-AFTRA Hawaii Local
