Join Your Fellow SAG-AFTRA New Mexico Members for a TV/Theatrical/Streaming Solidarity Gathering and Photo Op in Santa Fe
 

The SAG-AFTRA New Mexico Local leadership and staff will be on hand to provide updates on negotiations and the strike actions (if there are any) and to answer any questions you may have regarding the NM Local in general.
 

The afternoon will include good conversation and some light refreshments. This is a great chance to connect with other NM members, friends and allies, show your strike support and to capture photos you can upload onto social media to reinforce the message that SAG-AFTRA New Mexico members are standing strong behind their union and the TV/Theatrical/Streaming negotiating committee! 


There will be limited SAG-AFTRA Strike T-Shirts available on a first come, first serve basis. If you have already received a strike T-shirt, please wear it – or any other SAG-AFTRA swag you may have.
 

RSVP: The event is free and no advance reservations are required. That said, if you have the ability to log onto your SAG-AFTRA account and fill out the reservation form to let us know you're coming it would be greatly appreciated.

New Mexico TV/Theatrical/Streaming Strike Support Rally

Please join your fellow New Mexico members and special guests for a solidarity rally in support of a fair TV/Theatrical/Streaming contract! Open to members, pre-members, labor activists, industry partners, strike supporters! 

We have a limited amount of SAG-AFTRA STRONG T-shirts for SAG-AFTRA members which will be handed out on a first come first serve basis. To receive a t-shirt, please bring your SAG-AFTRA member ID card or digital card in the member app. If you already have a strike T-shirt or have other SAG-AFTRA gear to wear, please do!

*LOCATION NOTE: The closest park access to the rally is from Mountain Rd (across from the NM Museum of Natural History & Science). There’s street parking and also limited spots in the ABQ Museum of Art & History lot at the other end of the park.

Picket @ Netflix Albuquerque Studios - Support the SAG-AFTRA TV/Theatrical/Streaming Strike

Please join your New Mexico Local siblings in solidarity on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. We’ll be meeting outside the main gate at Netflix ABQ Studios. There should be plenty of street parking. 

SAG-AFTRA members, along with labor movement kin and allies, will be gathering together to picket in support of our rights, our livelihoods, and our futures!

When you arrive, please check in at the sign in table or look for designated SAG-AFTRA staff/volunteers holding clipboards. We have a limited amount of SAG-AFTRA STRONG T-shirts for SAG-AFTRA members which will be handed out on a first come first serve basis. SAG-AFTRA Arizona-Utah, Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico Locals TV/Theatrical Contracts W&W Meetings

The SAG-AFTRA Arizona-Utah, Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico Locals will conduct a local wages and working conditions (W&W) meeting in preparation for the 2023 TV/Theatrical Contracts negotiations. This is your opportunity to recommend proposed changes to these contracts. 

Proposals for this negotiation are developed through the involvement of members like you. Make your voice heard and participate in this very important process. Meetings are open to all paid-up* SAG-AFTRA members. 

Arizona-Utah, Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico Locals Meeting via Zoom: 
Wednesday, Jan, 18, 5-7 pm PT/6-8 pm MT

Steps to attend:

  • Make sure your dues are in good standing
  • Have a Zoom account that identifies you by name

Southwest Locals Self-Tape Member Informational Meeting

You are invited to join a regional member informational meeting to discuss self-taped auditions for members of Arizona-Utah, Colorado, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston-Austin, New Mexico and New Orleans Locals. The National Board has recently appointed a National Self-Tape Committee to explore and consider ways to address the self-tape process. This topic has significant relevance to our actor/performer members and this is an opportunity to provide important feedback for the committee’s consideration.

New Mexico Annual Membership Meeting

Please join your fellow New Mexico Local members for our annual membership meeting. While the method of meeting may be slightly different, the community feeling will be the same. Hope to see you there! 

We have a special guest: SAG-AFTRA National Director, Background Contracts, Stephanie Perry will join us to talk about the new Albuquerque Background Actor Zone established under the 2022 Netflix Agreement. This represents the first new background zone under the Union’s Entertainment Contracts in 24 years.

Learn your rights under the agreement. Stay informed of best practices. Bring your questions and get the answers on all aspects, including:

  • What are the terms of the Albuquerque Netflix Background Zone?
  • Why was an ABQ Background Zone created?
  • When does the Background Zone apply to a production shooting locally?
  • Can I still accept non-covered Background work under other non-Netflix projects?

You’ll also receive updates about all things related to the market and have the opportunity to learn and ask questions of elected New Mexico Local representatives and staff.
