Meet Davis Powell, Our New Broadcast Business Representative

We are happy to announce Davis Powell has joined the Seattle Local as our broadcast business representative. He will represent broadcast members in the Seattle and Portland locals. He was born and raised in the suburbs of Atlanta before attending the University of Georgia for undergrad and Wake Forest University for law school. After law school, he eventually found his way to a labor-side law firm in Savannah, Georgia, where he mainly represented the longshoremen local unions and their pension and welfare plans. It was during his time in Savannah that he came to truly understand and appreciate the need for a strong labor movement.

After leaving Savannah, he spent a brief spell in New York City and back in metro Atlanta, before moving to Seattle in spring 2019. He has enjoyed his time in the Pacific Northwest, getting to know the area and many people. He is excited to work with all of you and to help fight for your interests.

Since being hired in late February, Powell has hit the ground running and is already deeply involved in preparing for upcoming contract bargaining at several local stations, as well as learning the ropes by working with and getting to know his peers around the country.
