Member Promotes Union at Industry Event

The second annual Art of The Film: Louisiana Film Industry Expo took place on Jan. 20–21, 2023, at the Slidell Municipal Auditorium, presented by the Northshore Cultural Economy Coalition and the city of Slidell. Louisiana Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser was a keynote speaker and focused on the positive impact TV and films have had on tourism and revenue in the state. Other speakers discussed state incentives, the instrumental role of music in film, intellectual property, location scouting, casting, careers in acting, veteran training in filmmaking and movie poster archives. New Orleans Local member Rhonda Laizer gave an acting presentation and shared information about union membership and contracts as well as her industry experience.
