Los Angeles Local Board member Michelle Dunker was one of several local members who volunteered for the Associated Press Television and Radio Association’s Academy. The annual academy, founded and led by National Board member and Fox 11 reporter Hal Eisner, is a mentoring program for aspiring broadcast professional, and partners them with real news reporters, anchors, photographers, editors, news managers, writers, producers and assignment editors. The weekend gathering in Malibu Canyon includes breaking news events with local police and fire officials assisting in creating a realistic scenario. Dunker’s role was that of an “eco-terrorist” suspected of starting a fire.
