A Message From the Arizona-Utah Local President

Dear Arizona-Utah Local Member:

As 2024 comes to a close, I am looking back and celebrating the increased engagement among SAG-AFTRA members in our local. It has been wonderful to meet so many members this year at our conservatories, connections and on set!

As we continue to grow the union work here in our markets, I want to encourage all of you to have agency over your own careers! Here are six things you can do before the end of the year that will help set you up for more success in 2025:

1. Update your headshot! We will be putting out a call for member headshots as part of our Local Organizing Committee outreach in 2025 and we want you to look your best.
2. Educate yourself on the low-budget contracts. Here is a handy-dandy one sheet. And utilize the Micro-Budget Project agreement! This is a great way to get updated footage for your reels — and work under contract.
3. Share non-union commercial auditions in our market with adsgounion@sagaftra.org. After our new contract comes out in the spring for commercials, look for an updated regional commercials code as well. We'll be following up with educational workshops for members, agents, casting directors and producers.
4. Like and follow the official SAG-AFTRA Arizona-Utah Local Facebook Page. Our Local Communications Committee and union staff are ensuring that helpful resources and fun things like trivia are being posted.
5. Show the world you’re verified SAG-AFTRA! Add a free SAG-AFTRA badge to your IMDb page here.
6. Connect and market yourself. Our SAG-AFTRA Arizona-Utah Local Resources page has up to date information about agents, casting directors, industry organizations, production listings and more.  

As a reminder, Arizona-Utah Local events are always posted on our local pages on SAG-AFTRA website here, and emails are sent out to the addresses on file. If you aren’t seeing the emails, be sure to whitelist and add sagaftracommunications@sagaftra.org to your contact list. And, monitor your junk/spam regularly, as they sometimes end up there.
