Hello Los Angeles,

We are living in an unprecedented time of crisis where so much is out of our control. I don’t know about you all, but it’s not been easy for me. As we take care of each other through social distancing and the work of our industry screeches to a halt, I find myself in desperate need of a creative place to channel the energy and emotion that I have nurtured for my craft.

I have been so inspired by current and former board members like Lisa Ann Walter sewing masks for the medical community and Elaine Loh tutoring high school students. I want to find a way to serve the larger community with my craft, with my creativity, and my heart. So, I’m asking you to join me.

Together, let’s unleash our hearts. As artists, let’s do what we do best and express our gratitude to the frontline workers keeping our country alive while we’re stuck indoors. Let’s create and send loving and inspiring videos, photos, songs, poems, letters, cards, paintings, and even safe food to your local hospitals, public utilities, grocery stores, law enforcement, teachers, delivery, and all other “essential” workers putting themselves in harm’s way. Our lives depend on their morale.

Keeping the members first,

Patricia Richardson
