My Fellow Louisiana and Mississippi Members:
We stand in solidarity with our union brothers and sisters at the Writers Guild of America, on strike for better wages and working conditions. No picket lines are currently planned in our local, but should you be in an area where the WGA is picketing, we hope you’ll join the line. More information is available here. You can also show your support on social media by posting and sharing supportive statements using hashtags #WGAstrong, #sagaftramember and #1u.
In addition, this legislative session is critical for our industry. Calls to action are often very short notice, so be sure you’re getting emails from the Louisiana Film Entertainment Association by joining. The general membership is free. Make your voice heard by Louisiana lawmakers to ensure that our state’s tax incentive program remains in place!
And finally, after May 11, COVID-19 safety protocols will sunset for both TV/Theatrical and commercials productions. You can read all the details here.
Thank you all so much for being proud SAG-AFTRA members!
