A Message From the New Orleans Local President

As a direct result of our January Town Hall in which members asked to get a better understanding of residuals, a presentation was scheduled by your board for New Orleans Local members and organized by Chip Carriere, myself and staff to be in March. Because of COVID-19, the presentation was canceled.

That said, I am pleased to report that after suggesting this topic to the President’s Task Force on Education, Outreach & Engagement, SAG-AFTRA is presenting the webinar Understanding Residuals for SAG-AFTRA Performers for all members on Thursday, Dec. 10. This presentation will focus on television, theatrical and new media residuals. It will cover what residuals are, how compensation is paid to performers beyond the use covered by initial compensation, when residuals are paid, how residuals are calculated, how to track them and much more.

This is just one example of how your voice matters. You are heard and make a difference.
