Beginning tomorrow all New York State mass vaccination sites will be open to eligible New Yorkers for walk-in vaccination on a first-come, first-serve basis for all. The walk-in appointments are reserved for first doses only; second-dose appointments will be scheduled immediately after New Yorkers receive their first dose. This means any eligible New Yorker age 16 and older will be able to walk into any mass vaccination site and walk out with a shot-in-arm, eliminating the need to make an appointment online or by phone. A list of vaccination sites can be found here.

I am encouraged to see so many of your posts and photos of you getting your shots. The new policy in New York makes the process even easier and I urge all SAG-AFTRA members and the entire entertainment community to get vaccinated. Please use #sagaftramember when posting.

With increasing vaccines and helpful programs like the American Rescue Plan put in place, we are beginning to get back on our feet. Click here for a video from Senate Majority Leader Chuck Shumer’s press conference and to learn more about how you can continue to Support the Arts.

Finally, don’t miss our upcoming New York Local Virtual Membership Meeting on Monday, May 3 from 5-7:30 p.m. RSVP by this Friday, April 30 at 5 p.m. ET and join us for updates about the state of the industry, the local production scene and critical legislation impacting members.

Onward together,

Rebecca Damon
New York Local President
