VOTE.

A simple word, but a powerful action. Tomorrow is Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3. It is the last chance to vote in the 2020 elections. The future of our nation is in our hands.

When we work together to shape our world, we can make a difference. This concept was proven in the way the people in and around New York banded together to follow basic safety measures to protect against COVID-19, allowing us to make vital progress toward a safe reopening.

But the work is not done — we must be ever vigilant this fall and winter to stick with the fundamentals. Because of our diligence and reliance on science to determine our approach, New York production is beginning the road to recovery.

Thanks to the collaborative efforts of SAG-AFTRA, DGA, IATSE, Teamsters, and the Basic Crafts to develop The Safe Way Forward, our members are safely getting back to work to provide the content that got so many people through the toughest parts of this pandemic. Want to get a sense of what is shooting? The New York Local Resources page includes a current NY Production Show Sheet and notices for active projects. Make sure you are logged in to SAGAFTRA.org to access the career resources content. On set or off, remember to keep up with proven safety measures. Wear a mask, wash your hands, and practice physical distancing.

As we look to the future, there is important content and assistance available to SAG-AFTRA members to help you navigate the changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The President’s Task Force on Education Outreach and Engagement has a large library of content available to you on SAG-AFTRA’s YouTube channel. And as I noted in my last letter, you also have access to SAG-AFTRA Foundation Programming and their COVID-19 Disaster Relief Fund, the SAG-AFTRA New York Local COVID-19 Resource Page, as well as Free Flu Shots at the Friedman Health Center.

I leave you with one final reminder to VOTE. And be sure to post a photo and use #sagaftravotes.

Your voice matters. Our nation needs you.

Onward Together,

Rebecca Damon
