Dear Member,
This April, I’m happy to report that our Conservatory program is back with great new offerings. An eblast went out to members in the Washington-Mid Atlantic Local last month and, since then, we’ve added even more workshops. Take a look here and register today so you don’t miss out.
Some classes such as Character Voice Creation are already filled, but you can join the waitlist. Others still have a few seats open, including Audiobook Narration Workshop: It’s Not About the Voice with award-winning director and producer Paul Alan Ruben.
Also new this semester:
- May 2 – Creative Memorization: Improve your memorization skills and learn stress hacks to keep you calm and confident.
- May 20 – Online Speed Dating for Readers: Meet fellow actors in our local and be prepared for your next self-taped audition with an experienced reader you can call on when needed.
- May 21 – NextGen Kickoff: Calling all 18+ through Gen X members, both actors and broadcasters, for a meetup in Silver Spring, Maryland.
- June 19 – WMA Conservatory Salon: Try out new material in a virtual performance space.
Finally, we are pleased to announce a Co-star Audition Workshop With Casting Director Jenny Ravitz (Chicago P.D., Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and FBI: International), which is currently scheduled for May 25. We are still finalizing the specifics for this wonderful workshop, but please be on the lookout for the official announcement.
All Washington-Mid Atlantic Conservatory workshops are free and open to members in good standing. I hope you will attend at least one workshop this spring and take advantage of this great union benefit.
In solidarity,
Kathryn Klvana
Washington-Mid Atlantic Local President
