Dear Member,

Happy holidays! Thank you for your continued commitment to SAG-AFTRA. Thank you to the union staff for working diligently to protect our rights and for making certain we are safe at work and receive our payments. A special shout-out to our local staff!

It is always wonderful to see local members in films that may be nominated for various prestigious awards. Many of the films shot in New England last year or early this year are now screened in cinemas and streaming on television. We filmed musicals, horror, superhero, sci-fi, comedy, romcom and just about every genre in our very own New England. Sometimes we see ourselves and our colleagues on screen, and sometimes we merely remember being a part of an exciting scene, whether or not the angle includes our faces in the final cut. In addition to big-budget projects, I’m also excited to have seen some of the Micro-Budget Agreement films made by and starring our local members. Particularly lovely to have acted in a couple of them this year.

SAG-AFTRA is conducting the TV/Theatrical wages and working conditions (W&W) process in preparation for the negotiation of the TV/Theatrical Contracts, which expire on June 30. You can still join a meeting or submit a proposal recommendation by email to tvtheatrical2023@sagaftra.org no later than Friday, Jan. 27. Thank you to those who have already participated in a W&W meeting. These Zoom meetings offer everyone a voice in the process.

Wishing you all magnificent holiday seasons and a spectacular entrance into 2023. May you book the gigs of your dreams and cover the stories of your careers.

All the best,

Andrea Lyman

New England Local President
