Co-Founder, Coworker.org

Michelle Miller is the co-founder of Coworker.org, a digital-first organization for people to shift power in their workplaces and transform the economy. Since its founding in 2013, Coworker.org has nurtured the growth of global employee networks who’ve won paid parental leave at Netflix, scheduling reform at Starbucks and changes to Google’s code of conduct, among many other policy changes in workplaces across multiple sectors. Coworker also provided a critical organizing hub for essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, hosting more than 300 campaigns for hazard pay, store closures and access to PPE in food service, logistics, grocery and hospitals. Before co-founding Coworker.org, Michelle spent a decade at the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) where she used creative media and the arts to advance union campaigns. She is on the boards of Arts and Democracy and the Brooklyn Institute For Social Research, and lives in Brooklyn, NY.
