Fellow SAG-AFTRA Missouri Valley Members,
As your new local president, I’m extremely proud to represent SAG-AFTRA members all across the Missouri Valley. We are already off to a busy start of the year, and I’m eager to see what the rest of 2020 brings. We hosted two successful SAG Awards watch parties in both Kansas City and St. Louis. I look forward to meeting with even more of you at our upcoming general membership meetings in March and April.
Our new Local Board has some familiar faces and a few new ones. I want to introduce our newest members, Vivian Bell, vice president (Kansas City) and Eric Dean White, Local Board member (St. Louis). I’m excited to be working with them and our returning members, Tom Murray, Bill Schulenburg, Rodger Brand, Shelley Waggener and Dixie Henderson. I want to take a moment to recognize our departing board members, Sally Eaton and Ron Elz. They both dedicated many years to the board, and I would like to thank them for their dedication and service to our local.
I’m thrilled to share the local board and staff have a lot to report on, including the success of our Regional Commercials Code and an update on the broadcast contracts that are up for negotiations this year. I encourage you to attend the upcoming membership meetings on March 16 in St. Louis and April 3 in Kansas City (both of which will be followed by a social) and continue to participate in all events throughout the year.
