The SAG-AFTRA mobile app was designed to provide members with on-the-go access to their membership cards and a variety of member services. It can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play for free. The app is compatible with iOS 9.0 and later and Android 5.0 and later. If you do not have an Android or iOS device or one that uses an older version of one of these operating systems, you will be unable to download the app. For example, the app does not run on any version of Microsoft Windows, and it will not run on older smartphones or tablets with operating systems that cannot be updated.
After you have downloaded the app, you must sign in using your sagaftra.org account credentials. If you do not have a sagaftra.org account, you will need to create one.
Although the app allows you to do many things, the remainder of this article will focus on how you can look up production information in your area. Click the Production Listings icon on the home screen to get started.
The Production Listings screen appears with a list of all productions by title in your area based on your local affiliation. To the left of the title is an icon distinguishing if the listing is a television, film, new media or interactive game production. A production's start and end dates, if provided to SAG-AFTRA, is seen to the right of the listing. You can also, add or remove a production to your My Productions list by clicking the star icon to the left of the production listing. To see more productions that are not visible when the initial list appears, scroll down.
The magnifying glass icon at top right of the Production Listings screen opens a Filter Productions screen that allows you to search for a production by production title, start date, end date or a range of start and end dates, local or production type (All, Television, New Media, Interactive Game or Theatrical). To apply the filters you must click “Apply” at the bottom of the screen and to exit click the X in the top left corner.
The main menu is available at the left of the Production Listings screen when you click the icon with the three horizontal bars at the top left of the Production Listings screen. You also can adjust your settings and log out of the app from this menu.
Note that the back arrow icon at the top of the screen did not always work to return me to the previous screen. The operating system back arrow icon, however, worked when the back arrow icon did not.
The mobile app was created to give you another way to engage with your union. Get all the details here.
