MORE Seminar Series Presents: Reimagining the Self-Tape with David Dean Bottrell

On Dec. 14, the SAG-AFTRA New York Local MORE Committee hosted its first virtual Seminar Series via Zoom. The workshop, taught by veteran character actor David Dean Bottrell, offered techniques to reframe the self-tape audition, including how to break the scene down specifically for the self-tape and how to bridge what the audition process was to what it is today. At the end of the presentation, members in attendance had the opportunity to ask questions about the self-tape process.

“SAG-AFTRA is committed to helping members navigate self-tapes,” said New York Local President Ezra Knight. “We are grateful to David Dean Bottrell for his real-world advice on how to approach these kinds of auditions.”
