SAG-AFTRA takes a closer look at a groundbreaking innovation within the 2022 Netflix Agreement.
Netflix continues to agree to work cooperatively to allow a series regular to accept another offer whenever possible … They’ll work with you [and] your representatives to get you that additional work while you’re a series regular on [their] show.

SAG-AFTRA National Director, Entertainment Contracts
The SAG-AFTRA President’s Task Force on Education, Outreach & Engagement continued its 2022 Netflix Agreement series with Netflix Exclusivity Terms Explained on Sept. 20. Joining SAG-AFTRA Executive Vice President Ben Whitehair was SAG-AFTRA National Director, Entertainment Contracts Jessica Johnson.
Johnson’s presentation gave viewers more information about a groundbreaking provision within the new collective bargaining agreement: changes to the exclusivity terms for members working as series regulars on Netflix’s original programming. Covered topics included significant increases to money breaks, capturing more performers within these provisions, other types of work performers can take when not working on the series and the contract’s new three-month “conflict-free window.”
The new provisions go into effect December 2022.
Following the presentation was a Q&A session.
