Nevada Members Conclude the Year with Uplifting Membership Meeting

On Dec. 3, the Nevada Local held a membership meeting and year-end celebration at SON Studios in Las Vegas. Local Vice President Mary Ann Hebinck kicked off the meeting by welcoming the Nevada Local members and expressing how wonderful it was to be there in person. Newly elected Board members were introduced and had an opportunity to express why they ran for local office. Hebinck thanked the 2021–2023 Local Committee members for their service, and the commitment and leadership they demonstrated in their various committees. She reminded members of the Dec. 5 deadline to vote on the TV/Theatrical Contract and provided updates on the National Stunts & Safety Committee. 

Described as “2023: A Year in Review,” the executive report provided a picture of what happened on the National and Local level. Highlights included the SAG Awards, 2023 elections, the historic TV/Theatrical strike, local conservatories, and opportunities to partner with our sister unions. The report ended with a call to action to Nevada Local members to lend their talents, experience and knowledge of the industry and serve on a 2023–2025 committee. After the membership meeting, members joined together to celebrate 2023 with food, laughter and excitement about 2024.
