The SAG-AFTRA New Orleans Local held a SAG Awards viewing party on awards night, Jan. 19. The event was open to both members and, to promote membership within our local, pre-members, reported New Orleans Local Board member Carol Ann Scruggs.
The party was held at the Nims Center, which is also the hub for the locally-shot series NCIS: New Orleans. Guests were greeted with a red carpet for photo opps, and members watched the ceremony in a seated theater and two other areas. A reception was provided with adult beverages and a plentiful selection of food, including a local favorite, jambalaya. Overall, it was a packed house with over 70 attendees.
Local President Diana Bolyston opened the event, welcoming attendees and introducing members of the Local Board, including Vice-President Randy Gonzalez, Secretary Kerry Kelly Gridley and Board member Carol Ann Scruggs, as well SAG-AFTRA Director of Local Administration Lisha Brock. Gonzalez and Gridley, who both head the local Awards Committee as chair and vice-chair respectively, thanked everyone for coming to celebrate the awards, and Gonzalez emphasized the benefits of membership and growing our presence in Louisiana and Mississippi.
Congrats to all the winners and nominees!
