Nearly a hundred millennial SAG-AFTRA members checked in at Burbank’s Story Tavern for a NextGen Performers networking mixer on Jan. 30. The young members subcommittee organizes mixers specifically tailored to members ages 18–35, providing them with an opportunity to meet one another, brainstorm projects and ideas, and build a supportive working community in a challenging industry. As in past mixers, which have included taco Tuesdays, bowling outings and drag queen bingo, snacks and activities were complimentary and a cash bar was available for beverages.

Chaired by Ben Whitehair and co-chaired by Aubrey Mozino, NextGen Performers is a subcommittee of the larger MOVE L.A. committee. Its task is to “work to develop, serve and connect the emerging generation of SAG-AFTRA membership.” To be notified about upcoming NextGen Performer events, please reach out to nextgen@sagaftra.org. NextGen Performers can look forward to more networking mixers and intimate meetups. The first of these NGP meetups was a hike, held at Runyan Canyon with committee members on Feb. 9.
