Xavier

Xavier Wolf, 9, is a Washington-Mid Atlantic Local member with a mission. An avid reader with ample access to books, Xavier was saddened to learn that many kids in our area don’t have those same resources. Xavier was determined to start a book drive and try to share his love of reading with others.

He contacted the SAG Foundation literacy programs department and was thrilled to receive a call from BookPals founder Barbara Bains, encouraging him to move forward.

Xavier would like to get donations of at least 500 books or bookstore gift cards for teachers of needy students in our area. He’s well on his way, with over 100 books already!

He is seeking books appropriate for elementary school-age students. If you are interested in donating, please feel free to mail books or gift cards (from Amazon or other bookstores) to SAG-AFTRA, 7735 Old Georgetown Road, Suite 950, Bethesda, MD 20814, or drop them by the office when you next visit.

Xavier’s goal is to get them in the hands of eager readers in time for the summer school break — a perfect time to pick up a book and read for fun.

Thank you for helping Xavier with this noble effort.
