More than 45 SAG-AFTRA Chicago Local members took part in a one-of-a-kind workshop, No Acting Please, The Eric Morris System, presented by Adam Christopher at the Kaufherr Resource Center on Sept.10.

Christopher is one of the few coaches Eric Morris has endorsed to teach this method-based system, which teaches the actor to experience personal reality rather than act. As part of this workshop, some attendees were coached one on one by Christopher using the tools of the technique.

“I really enjoyed Adam Christopher’s seminar,” exclaimed Chicago Local member Darnice Cox,
one of the performers Christopher coached during the seminar. “He helped me bring my piece to life by showing me a better way to connect with my character. With his guidance, I was able to accomplish the character’s purpose on a greater level. Thank you, Adam.”

Christopher praised the performers in attendance, saying “It was great being in a room with serious, professional actors. Everyone was open to trying a new approach to their work and craft and just jumped in.”

Born and raised in Chicago, Christopher has been looking forward to bringing this work and method home. “I’m already looking forward to doing something for the SAG-AFTRA Chicago Local Conservatory next year,” he added.

Christopher has worked both sides of the camera and has been a member of SAG-AFTRA for more than 20 years, in both the Chicago and L.A. markets, and has casting experience as a session director for O’Connor Casting.
