It has come to SAG-AFTRA’s attention that the owner of Esprit Talent, Michael Archambo, has died. As is routine procedure in such cases, SAG-AFTRA acts to ensure that all of its members have received any monies which were outstanding at the time of the owner’s death, but have not yet been distributed. SAG-AFTRA wants to ensure that there are no actionable financial/accounting irregularities with this agency before we close out its record(s).
Therefore, as a precaution only, SAG-AFTRA advises you at this time to review your own records regarding any SAG-AFTRA-covered work that you have completed through this agency. Should you discover any abnormalities in how payments were made to you for this SAG-AFTRA-covered work, please notify the Union’s Professional Representatives Department via email at agency@sagaftra.org. Please note that the Statute of Limitations for actions under the California Talent Agencies Act is one year from knowledge of loss.
The Union will do what it can to assist you in recovering any outstanding sums, including seizing on Esprit’s bond, if necessary. If you are confused about your commission obligations hereunder (or indeed, your former agent’s obligations to you), please do not hesitate to contact our office for assistance.
At this time, SAG-AFTRA would also like to remind you of your right to revoke any and all check authorizations currently on file for this agency. We encourage you to do so in most cases. You may do this by advising your employers, the SAG-AFTRA Residuals Department, and any applicable payroll services of any such revocation in writing. Please note that revocation of any pre-existing check authorizations does not necessarily negate your continuing obligation to promptly pay your agent commissions if and when they are owed.
