N.Y. City Hall Supports Striking Entertainment Industry Unions

SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher gives testimony at a New York City Council Committee on Civil Service and Labor hearing in New York City Hall on Aug. 1. The hearing was held to consider resolutions supporting the Writers Guild of America, East and SAG-AFTRA in their pursuit of a fair contract with the AMPTP. The resolutions, introduced by City Council members Amanda Farias and Carmen De La Rosa, were later adopted by the full New York City Council on Aug. 3. Accompanying Drescher were New York Local President Ezra Knight and Executive Director, New York Local Labor Policy and International Affairs Rebecca Damon.
