NY State Comptroller Holding
Unclaimed Child Performer Trust Money

Dear SAG-AFTRA Member,

This is to inform you that the New York State Comptroller may be holding funds if you were a young performer on a New York production anytime between 2004 and the present day. This is the result of the employer or payroll company not having valid information about a child’s trust account. As of October 2016, the Comptroller has received over $640,000 in trust for more than 5,600 child performers. The Comptroller’s office routinely attempts to reach out to parents or performers when money is turned over to it for the trust account. Where there are poor records or incomplete records, it is difficult to identify the rightful owners.

To inquire into whether the Comptroller is holding money for a current or former child performer, individuals can call the Comptroller’s Accounting Operations office at (518) 474-4017.
