Synopsis: In this Emerson College short film, a journalist parched for truth faces another high-pressure interview, eight years after an injury that left him searching. This time, he might be the one seeking to deceive.
Seeking Actors Able to Portray:
Gary – lead, male, age range 18-25. Blue or blue-toned hazel eyes, lean physique, neither long-haired nor bald, and clean-shaved. A young journalist, persistent and sharp, weighed down by past mistakes and public scrutiny. Introspective yet determined, his quiet intensity masks his restless mind. This role includes post-production ADR.
Celebrity – supporting, male, age range 20-30, white/of European Descent. A magnetic presence with effortless charm and confidence. Exudes a laid-back vibe while remaining photogenic and well-groomed. With a distinctive, engaging voice, they can deliver witty one-liners and sincere emotional moments.
Interviewer – day player, age range 40-55, White/of European Descent. A poised and professional figure. Exudes confidence with a sharp yet controlled demeanor. Skilled at extracting information while remaining composed. The role requires an actor who can balance warmth with an underlying sense of control.
TV Show Host – day player, age range 35-45, all genders and ethnicities. Charismatic TV show host who appears exclusively on a background TV screen, yet plays a crucial role in conveying the film’s message. With the vibe of a hidden mastermind, he remains a beloved figure. Preferably possesses a distinctive, engaging voice.
Richard – day player, male, age range 40-60, balding hair. The pragmatic boss at a news agency whose decisions directly influence the direction of the story and shape Gary’s professional journey. Typically seen in tailored suits and glasses.
20 Background Performers – all genders, all ethnicities.
