Here’s a quick look at what’s showing and shooting in Oregon this summer.
Oregon Film continues its 50th anniversary celebration with the Hollywood Theatre’s #OregonMade film series in June with a screening of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Oregon Film Executive Director Tim Williams says the next month’s film is announced at each screening.
“We’d love to know of members that are involved in the films we’re screening,” said Williams, encouraging our members who worked on the #OregonMade films to attend the screenings. Ticket sales go live the day of the screening and details can be found on OregonFilm.org, OregonConfluence.com and the Hollywood Theatre’s site, as well as on Oregon Film’s social media sites. At each screening, audience members who worked on the film are asked to raise their hands. Attend a screening and be counted!
Around the state, the Eugene International Film Festival, the Portland Jewish Film Festival and the Portland Horror Film Festival kick off in June.
And, production this spring continues apace. We’ve got at least 21 projects in production or gearing up, utilizing contracts from full-length theatrical to the modest-but-mighty Ultra Low, with shoot dates scheduled between now and November. IFC’s Documentary, Now! And Netflix’ The OA are auditioning. It promises to be an active working summer and fall for our members!
