Overview of Broadcast Network Television 2018

Attention SAG-AFTRA Members:

The Wages and Working Condition (W&W) process for the SAG-AFTRA National Code of Fair Practice for Network Television Broadcasting (Network Code) will be starting in March.

In order for you to be as informed as possible when participating in this important process, SAG-AFTRA is hosting a presentation, an Overview of Broadcast Network Television 2018. Please join us to learn how the industry is changing and the impact those changes are having on our membership. This presentation will help you understand the current state of the industry under which SAG-AFTRA will be negotiating the Network Code, which expires on June 30, 2018.

As stunt performers you have different needs and experiences working in productions covered by the Network Television Code and your input into our negotiations process is vital. The Network Television Code covers non-dramatic programs, daytime serials, variety, quiz, game, reality, talk, news, sports programs and promotional announcements. This agreement expires on June 30, 2018.

The National Stunt Committee would like you to email your ideas about the contract provisions concerning the employment of stunt performers. Please click here to review the portion of the 2014-2018 Network Television Code agreement which concerns the employment of stunt performers. This is the agreement under which SAG-AFTRA members are currently employed for all productions covered by the Network Television Code.

We want to hear from you! The National Stunt Committee strongly encourages you to email your concerns and ideas to ssd@sagaftra.org and return by Friday, March 16, 2018. Please reference “Stunt Performer Net Code W&W” and your SAG-AFTRA Local in the subject line.

All proposal recommendations will be reviewed by the Wages & Working Conditions Committee.

W&W meetings are only open to paid-up SAG-AFTRA members in good standing — no guests are allowed. Parents/guardians of performers under 18 years old are welcome. No RSVP necessary; participation is limited only by fire department regulations. SAG-AFTRA members, please bring your membership card or digital card on the app (paid through April 30, 2018) for admittance.
