
Join Marilyn McIntyre as she teaches and discusses how the fusion of personal experience and imagination allows an actor to fully personalize the character and fictional circumstances.
Actors who would like to perform a monologue and receive feedback should arrive 15-20 minutes early. Bring a headshot, resume and two copies of your monologue. Please have the material prepared to answer:
- Who am I?
- Who am I talking to?
- What do I want? Why? What’s in the way?

Acting professionally for over 45 years, Marilyn McIntyre has played leading roles on and off Broadway with several major regional theatre companies. McIntyre has garnered a number of awards for her theatre work including Ovation and LA Drama Critics Circle. McIntyre has worked extensively in television (Greys Anatomy, Cold Case, Watch Over Me - a series regular, et al). Her film credits include Heaven’s Rain, On Holiday, and First Daughter to name a few. McIntyre can also be seen in the cult favorite live-action short, George Lucas In Love. McIntyre is a SAG-AFTRA member and has a MFA from Penn State and BFA from University of North Carolina.
This workshop is only open to paid-up SAG-AFTRA members in good standing — no guests are allowed. Parents/guardians of performers under 18 years old are welcome. SAG-AFTRA members, please bring your membership card or digital card on the app (paid through October 31, 2018 or April 30, 2019) for admittance.
