On Wednesday, March 27, SAG-AFTRA members at Power 99 FM will begin bargaining their first contract with the station’s management team.

This comes after the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) counted two previously challenged ballots and authorized the Power 99 FM staff to be represented by SAG-AFTRA.

This vote marked a commercial radio union victory in a major market with a major employer, iHeart Media.

“We’re thrilled such a dynamic team of radio professionals will be joining the SAG-AFTRA Philadelphia family. Everyone can benefit from unionization and we look forward to working with Power 99 as they bargain for the wages and working conditions they deserve,” said SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director & Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland.

SAG-AFTRA currently represents radio workers at other stations in the Philadelphia region, including Q102 (WIOQ), Total Traffic & Weather Network, 93.3 WMMR, 92.5 XTU, SportsRadio 94WIP, KYW NewsRadio, WHYY, Audacy Traffic and WPHT-FM producers. The union represents a wide range of professionals in the entertainment industry, including actors, announcers, broadcast journalists, and disc jockeys. SAG-AFTRA has a membership of over 160,000 actors, performers, and broadcast professionals nationwide.
