The Portland Local hosted a viewing party for the 24th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, Jan. 21. Held at the beautiful Lake Theater and Cafe in Lake Oswego, the event was well-attended by members and friends, who were treated to food and drink while watching the ceremony on the big screen.
It was a unifying and uplifting experience for local SAG-AFTRA actors to be able to cheer on their fellow union brothers and sisters in an awards ceremony that celebrates incredible performances in film and television.
There was a contest for guessing the most correct SAG Award winners, and much to his chagrin, Portland Local President Robert Blanche won (he points out that the contest was tied, but the other contender had to leave before the end of the ceremony so he won by default). There was also a raffle for plenty of SAG-AFTRA swag. We can’t wait to do it again next year!
