The SAG-AFTRA Portland Local was invited to join with other unions to march together behind one banner in the 2019 Portland Pride Parade on June 16. As the Oregon AFL-CIO points out, “Now more than ever, we must stand together in unity, speaking out and acting up to uphold the rights and dignity of all workers. As we well know, an injury to one is an injury to all.”

Members showed up at 10 a.m. in the North Park Blocks, water and sunblock in hand. Robert Cohn brought the SAG AFTRA Pride T-shirts. As Gwyn Laree said, “Thanks everyone for ‘coming out!’”

The Portland Local joined with PNW Carpenters, the Letter Carriers 82, the Amalgamated Transit Workers 757, Equity and the AFL-CIO. Emily Sahler was instrumental in coordinating the information for all the unions. She seemed to be in several places at once!
