“SAG-AFTRA Portland Local members support and stand in solidarity with Seattle NPR affiliate KUOW 94.9 FM employees in their efforts to organize their union and negotiate their first contract. Since the shop voted overwhelmingly in favor of joining SAG-AFTRA this past February, the nearly 60 represented employees have worked together to secure the rights and benefits afforded by a union contract,” stated Portland Local President Robert Blanche. “As we welcome our newest brothers and sisters to SAG-AFTRA, it’s vital for all of us in the Pacific Northwest to support their hard work and to express our common commitment to the ideals and goals of union membership.”
