Residuals Donation to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation

With direct deposit, you can set a threshold to donate residuals below a certain amount. These residuals will automatically go to the Foundation as a tax-deductible donation; any residuals amounts you receive over the threshold will be securely deposited into your personal bank account.

GETTING STARTED

To donate residuals, you will need to be signed up for SAG-AFTRA direct deposit. (Click here for instructions on signing up for direct deposit). 

Once you have successfully enrolled in direct deposit, you will see the Charitable Donations option on your screen:

1. Click on the toggle switch next to Make donation to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation.
2. Enter max residuals threshold dollar amount. You can update and revise this at any time.
3. Click Save Donation Settings on the bottom left. 

Success! You are enrolled.

If you’re already signed up for SAG-AFTRA direct deposit, you can set up your residuals donation by following these steps in your direct deposit PaymentHub (found in your personal Residuals Portal, visible once you’re logged into your sagaftra.org account):

Once you are in your secure PaymentHub:

1. Click Settings in the left rail.
2. On the settings page, click Set Up Donation.
3. Click on the toggle switch next to Make donation to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation.
4. Enter max residuals threshold dollar amount. You can update and revise this at any time.
5. Click Save Donation Settings on the bottom left. 

Success! You are enrolled.

All individual payments that are less than or equal to the threshold will be donated to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation and all individual payments above the threshold will be paid to you. So, if you set your threshold at $5 and you receive payments from payor 1 of $3, payor 2 of $1 and payor 3 of $2, all three payments will be donated to the Foundation despite the aggregate amount exceeding $5. 

You may change or cancel this gift at any time. Please be aware that any payments already in process at the time will be sent to the Foundation pursuant to your prior instructions.
