On the morning of Saturday, October 27, 2012, members of the DC Actors Unite to End Alzheimer’s team joined together with thousands of others to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on the National Mall. The DC-area team raised over $1,600 in support of the Alzheimer’s Association this year. Nationally, the Actors Unite to End Alzheimer's team has raised over $17,500 in 2012, and that number increases daily. The money raised through this walk is used by the Alzheimer’s Association to increase awareness and education about Alzheimer’s, as well as support for people affected by this terrible disease.

The National Actors Unite team was founded by Nancy Daly, a SAG-AFTRA and AEA member, whose mother sadly passed away from Alzheimer’s early this year. Teams in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami will also be participating in their city’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

The Washington-Mid Atlantic Local of SAG-AFTRA is proud to have participated in such an inspiring event and looks forward to doing it again next year.
