LOS ANGELES (May 30, 2014) --- SAG-AFTRA is pleased to announce that it has reached a tentative agreement with Entercom Communications Corporation for members at top-performing San Francisco radio station 96.5 KOIT. The agreement, which is subject to ratification, was reached after the union launched a Save Local Radio social media campaign (www.savelocalradio.org/koit) to support its members in their effort for an acceptable contract.

On May 20, after a full day of intense negotiations and with the assistance of a federal mediator, the parties reached agreement on key terms that had previously stalled negotiations. The major provisions include 2 percent increases on a wage escalator for those currently working at the station; agreement for additional compensation prior to reuse of programming material outside of the market and payment for reuse of material post-termination; improvements on severance beyond company policy; and increasing part-timer rates of pay. If ratified, this will represent the first contract with Entercom for KOIT since the company acquired the station in 2008 and unilaterally imposed terms in 2010.

SAG-AFTRA San Francisco-Northern California Local Executive Director Len Egert said of the agreement, “I commend this small group of committed members who remained united and resolved to achieve a fair contract despite a lengthy and difficult process. We look forward to working with Entercom and local management as we all move forward.”
