SAG-AFTRA Vice President, New York and New York Local President Ezra Knight and Michelle Bennett, Chief Governance and Equity & Inclusion Officer attended the Black Beauty Roster X L'Oreal Groupe Hair And Makeup Equity Dinner on Feb. 9. Others in attendance were The Hair Tales (2022) docuseries’ creator and executive producer Michaela Angela Davis, and BBR founder Maude Okrah Hunter. 

In honor of Black History Month during New York Fashion Week, the celebration dinner recognized landmark wins in hair and makeup equity including the work of SAG-AFTRA’s Hair & Makeup Equity Work Group, and the latest contract gains in hair and makeup equity under the TV/Theatrical Agreement. 

The Black Beauty Roster is a diversity, equity and inclusion platform connecting several industries, including film and television, with diverse beauty professionals for on- and off-set needs. SAG-AFTRA has partnered with the BBR on initiatives that further education, advocacy and accessibility for Black makeup artists and hair stylists.
