On March 27, SAG-AFTRA National Board member Towanda Underdue attended a reception hosted by Group Black for the inaugural America Votes summit reception in Washington, D.C.

This event, titled Energizing the Black Vote, highlighted the importance of connecting with BIPOC audiences by meeting them where they are and how they want to be met online and in person. It allowed attendees an opportunity to network and included a brief presentation by Cameron Trimble from Spero Studio and Hip-Politics, Ashley Banks Lau from Group Black, and Amy Garland from Bully Pulpit International Media concerning how to utilize various engagement insights to reach key voter groups and encourage them to get involved with the political process.

Group Black is an inclusive, mission-driven media company with a focus on building Black-owned media businesses that embrace diversity in their organizations and audiences.
