Austin Actors Conservatory Script to Screen Team
presents Live from the Boneyard Film Script
Novelist, Agent, Attorney Mike Farris Shares his Latest

Austin, Texas (Sept 10, 2013) -- The Austin Script to Screen Team presents a LIVE film script reading event with Mike Farris’ Live from the Boneyard. The general public is invited to join actors, writers, producers, directors, and film aficionados at 4 p.m. Sunday, September 15, at Studio E, 7612 Texas 71, Austin, Texas. Admission is free.

Live from the Boneyard is a comedy-thriller in which an animal rights activist who blackmails a political candidate with compromising photos has the photos stolen by another.  When a blackmail scheme goes awry, the blackmailer becomes the blackmailed.

An ever-growing independent film market has enticed literary agent and entertainment attorney to submit Live from the Boneyard to area investors, directors and producers. Mike Farris is an attorney with the law firm of Vincent Lopez Serafino Jenevein, P.C.  In the world of fiction, he is the author Kanaka Blues, a Hawaiian thriller; and Manifest Intent and Rules of Privilege, both legal thrillers. His latest novel, The Bequest, is set for release in December of 2013. Mike is also an award-winning screenwriter with two projects currently in development with a Los Angeles-based production company. His short film, Balaam Gimble’s Gumption, was produced by Dallas’s Blue Logic Productions.

The Austin Script to Screen Team, in cooperation with the SAG-AFTRA Conservatory, regularly presents script readings before live audiences, leading to script and project development for Texas production.

"Writers and performers benefit from exploring the life of a project. Live reads give the investor, producer and director a fresh look at a project and a performer's potential,” said Pamela Weaver, Austin Actors Conservatory chair.  “With the growing number of industry people in Texas and the recent increase in the Moving Image Industry Incentive Program, it’s important to stay in touch. Our Script to Screen performances help bring more of the creative community together.”
