The SAG-AFTRA Executive Committee has approved a COVID-19 dues relief program for November 2021 dues. SAG-AFTRA dues bills will begin mailing on approximately Nov. 4 and be available online at sagaftra.org/billing-portal. Members who can pay on time are encouraged to do so when they receive their bill to allow the critical services of the union, such as residuals processing and contract negotiation and enforcement, to continue without disruption.

Members experiencing COVID-19-related financial hardship can request and will be granted a due date extension and an installment plan on or before Dec. 10, 2021. You may pay your current November 2020 dues in two (2) installments. Half of the dues bill will be required by Dec. 10, 2021, and the remaining half by March 1, 2022. Please note that installment payments must be received no later than Dec. 10 and March 11, respectively, to maintain good standing for the November 2021 dues period unless prior period payments are owed. No late fees will be assessed for the November 2021 dues period and there will be no adverse impact on members’ work eligibility during this time. Your request for a due date extension/installment plan must be received no later than Dec. 10, 2021 by logging into your member account at sagaftra.org/billing-portal; calling SAG-AFTRA at (855) SAGAFTRA/(855) 724-2387; or by checking the COVID-19 DUES RELIEF EXTENSION box on the back of the payment coupon and returning by mail.

If you previously requested COVID-19 dues relief, you will need to request again for the November 2021 dues period.

Important: If applicable, to maintain eligibility for SAG Awards voting and "For Your Consideration" materials, your request for a dues relief extension, the first installment payment and all prior dues owed must be received no later than Dec. 10, 2021.

NO LATE FEES: If you are facing COVID-19-related hardship and are not able to pay your November membership dues, no late fees will be applied to your November dues.

INSTALLMENT PLAN: If you are facing COVID-19-related hardship and are not able to immediately pay your November membership dues, once we receive your timely request for a dues relief extension you may pay your November 2021 membership dues in two (2) installments. Half of the dues payment will be required by Dec. 10, 2021, and the remaining half by March 1, 2021. Please note that installment payments must be received no later than Dec. 10 and March 11, respectively, to maintain good standing for the November 2021 dues period unless prior period payments are owed. No late fees will be applied to your November dues. Late fees will resume in May if payment has not been made in full. Members who remain in compliance with the terms of this extension will be considered to be in good standing throughout the term of the extension.

No reminders will be mailed. Mark your calendar and pay online at sagaftra.org/billing-portal or by phone at (866) 855-5191 (have your membership number ready).

NO ADVERSE IMPACT ON WORK ELIGIBILITY: If you are employed or actively engaged in seeking employment, or if you have the opportunity to be employed under SAG-AFTRA contracts, your non-payment and/or delinquency of dues or an equivalent payment (hereafter referred to collectively as “dues”) under the COVID-19 Dues Relief Extension program will have no adverse impact on your work eligibility throughout the November 2021 dues period. For individuals who do not pay the November 2021 dues and all prior owed dues on time, and who do not elect the extension program, one additional “OK30” will be provided for purposes of clearance for union security provisions. After that special “OK30,” the normal “OK30” and “must pay” rules will apply for purposes of clearance for union security provisions, where applicable.

TERMINATIONS TEMPORARILY HALTED: Membership will be automatically terminated when a member has not been in good standing for a period of eighteen (18) months because of nonpayment of dues, assessments, fines or administrative fees. However, during the November 2021 dues period, the COVID-19 Dues Relief Extension program allows for payment of the minimum amount due in two (2) installments (Dec. 10 and March 1) and, where applicable, delayed termination until the May 2022 dues period with late fees applied. Installments must be received no later than Dec. 10 and March 11, respectively. Reinstatement after termination requires the payment of an application fee and reinstatement fee not to exceed the full, current initiation fee.

THINKING OF RUNNING FOR SAG-AFTRA OFFICE? In order to meet the November dues period good-standing eligibility requirement to be nominated for election as a national officer, national board member or local board member, members should ensure that their November 2021 dues bill payment is received by SAG-AFTRA no later than Dec. 10, 2021 or make a request for the COVID-19 Dues Relief Extension no later than Dec. 10, 2021 and make all payments in compliance with the program (first installment payment must be received on or before Dec. 10 and second payment with the March 1 due date must be received on or before March 11). If your November dues payment is not received by Dec. 10, 2021 and you have not made a timely request for a dues relief extension or your payments are not in compliance with the COVID-19 Dues Relief Extension program, your eligibility to run for office will be affected. Failure to pay dues in accordance with the COVID-19 Dues Relief Extension may also affect your ability to vote, nominate and participate in referenda. For questions regarding eligibility, please contact SAG-AFTRA at (323) 549-6676.
