On March 22, Harvard University’s Journal of Sports and Entertainment Law and the Committee on Sports and Entertainment Law hosted a joint symposium on the 2023 TV/Theatrical/Streaming strike with panelists from SAG-AFTRA and the entertainment and labor fields. New England Local President Andrea Lyman joined the panel in person, along with Professor Matthew T. Bodie of the University of Minnesota Law School and moderator Brandon McCoy. SAG-AFTRA Senior Deputy General Counsel Sarah Fowler, entertainment attorney and journalist Jonathan Handel, and entertainment and intellectual property attorney Lisa Bonner joined the panel virtually. Topics included the rise in union density since 2020, the impact of the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, and the current labor movement.
