LOS ANGELES (February 14, 2017) – SAG-AFTRA today announced the public release of a specialized member mobile application. The app is part of an ongoing innovation push by SAG-AFTRA that includes direct deposit of members’ residuals checks, the launch of a nationwide member Contact Center, and providing mobile technology for use by field staff nationwide.
The SAG-AFTRA app allows users to track residuals, keep tabs on global productions, read the latest news, find answers to key contract questions, get special member deals, and add events directly to their calendars. Members can also use the app to call SAG-AFTRA if there is an on-set safety issue.
“The SAG-AFTRA app is hands-on information which is imperative in this digital age,” said SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris. “In addition to tracking residuals, the app provides members a powerful toolkit that will assist them in and out of the workplace. I’m proud to work side by side with our National Executive Director David White to bring this app to our members. He has championed the union’s technology advancements from the very start and this app marks another step forward in our digital evolution.”
National Executive Director David White said, “Improving member service is a key component of our mission at SAG-AFTRA and is a focus I share with our leadership. With new technologies like mobile apps, we can improve our responsiveness to members’ evolving needs while making member engagement with their union easier and more efficient. With this app SAG-AFTRA members have another touch point to get information they need to protect their interests and expand their contract knowledge. I want to thank our supportive elected leadership, our terrific staff who have worked on this initiative, and the members who voluntarily tested the beta release and provided guidance in the development phase.”
The app is an efficient tool to help members manage multiple aspects of their careers. With easy access to the most-used membership functions, the app is a perfect way for busy members to stay informed and engaged with union business.
The app is available for download from the App Store and Google Play.
