"To KGO-TV Management:
We are the KGO-TV news team dedicated to delivering quality breaking news to the Bay Area. This past Fall we have reported on life changing events to our community and the nation, such as the devastating California wildfires, the Las Vegas shooting and the Kate Steinle case among many others. We are committed to providing quality news to the Bay Area and this is reflected in our success as a station.
As the demands of our jobs continue to increase, our cost of living is highest in the nation and the unpredictability of our safety in the field is an ongoing concern, we request that management bargain in good faith for a fair SAG-AFTRA contract that acknowledges our work and professionalism including:
- Fairness and parity for our freelance staff;
- Commitment to identifying real solutions to increasing workload and overtime demands; and
- Providing Company benefits, such as paid child bonding leave for new parents."
