On June 30, SAG-AFTRA members participated in the NYC Pride March, the oldest celebration of Pride in the country. Kicking off from 27th and 5th Avenues in Manhattan, members headed south toward the Stonewall Inn — a historic site to the LGBTQ+ movement and now home to the newly opened Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center.

In addition to the marching contingent, SAG-AFTRA was represented with a float, where New York Local Vice President Anthony Rapp (Star Trek: Discovery, Rent, Dazed and Confused) was the featured guest. Executive Vice President Linda Powell; Vice President, New York and New York Local President Ezra Knight; Chief Labor Policy Officer and New York Local Executive Director Rebecca Damon; New York Local Board members; and members of the New York Local LGBTQ+ Committee were in attendance. Despite the threat of rain, the weather held until the SAG-AFTRA contingent reached the end of the route. The NYC Pride March was a wonderful celebration of the great diversity in our New York membership.
